Timeline: 2019 – Present 

My Role: End-to-End Product Design

The Problem: In 2019, Kernel was a simple utility: it counted down the days to theatrical releases. But in 2020, the world changed. Theaters closed, and streaming fragmentation exploded. Users no longer asked "when is this coming out in theaters?", instead they asked: "What should I watch?" and "Where is it streaming?".

Today the entertainment landscape has changed even more, and Kernel will focus on solving these issues viewers run into as its main priority. making the streaming landscape just that tiny bit more comprehensible offering viewers oversight by showing the information they look for the most up front, with more social features being added in a new that's never been seen before for entertainment.

Paying homage to a unique kernel feature and its heritage, we keep a nugget of information that feels so natural it goes unnoticed. Each step in this hierarchy renders the previous step unnecessary; a rating means you've seen the title, means the title has been released.
